The Kernersville Police Department is hosting a charity basketball game called the “Battle of the Badges” this Saturday, April 25, at 7:15PM at East Forsyth High School. 100% of the proceeds go to the NC Special Olympics.
Here’s the twist:
The teams playing are the Kernersville Police Dept against the Kernersville Fire Dept. We are bringing alive the age old “rivalry” between the police and fire services to raise money for the NC Special Olympics in a Law Enforcement Torch Run event!
Loads of smack talk has passed between the police officers and firefighters for weeks and now we have come down to the wire to find out who gets the bragging rights for the next year.
You are invited to come out and support the NC Special Olympics. The Chick-Fil-A cow will be there along with Officer Ted E. Bear and there will be a chance to win free Chick-Fil-A combos once a week for a year! Admission is $5 and $3 for kids under 10 at the door. Food and drinks will also be available at the game, and a Kernersville Fire truck and a new Kernersville Police Dodge Charger will be on display.
**Thanks to Julia from the police department for sharing this cool event with me. Hope you can make it out and support a great cause!!!
